What is an apprenticeship at TGI Fridays?

An Apprenticeship is a work-based training programme that is the equivalent of 5 GCSEs. Each apprenticeship takes around 12 months to complete.

This training is flexible and is predominantly 'on-the-job' so it takes place in the restaurant and is supported by e-learning / face to face learning with our Learning Provider Lifetime.

Apprenticeships available are:

  • Level 2:
    • Kitchen Services
    • Customer Services
    • Bar Services
    • Team Learning
  • Level 3:
    • Hospitality & Supervision Leadership principles

Apprenticeships are made up of 4 key areas:

  1. A National Vocational Qualification (NVQ/SVQ)
  2. Technical training certificate - the practical element where you are required to show competence in your role & demonstrate the knowledge you need to do your job successfully
  3. Functional skills in Maths, English and ICT
  4. Personal learning & thinking skills

The training will embed TGI Fridays brand standards and processes. Each learner will have an individual learning plan. All training takes place in the restaurants with 1:1 sessions. A trainer will visit for approx. 2 hours a month.
